This is my first blog! Ever actually, as I don’t blog or twitter and I haven’t even updated my facebook status for two years. But here goes...

The Wessex Scene editorial team had their Christmas dinner on Monday at the Pitcher and Piano (look out for a review in the first issue of next year). We started out with mince pies, stollen and Christmas tunes at Carla’s house. Plus Carla had made mulled wine, my favourite! Everyone was looking extremely attractive on the night: usually we see each other sweating over the next Scene deadline, so it was nice to see everyone dressed up and relaxed. The Pitcher and Piano’s Christmas menu wasn’t great to be honest but the company made up for it, of course. We had fun with crackers, party poppers and rather interesting games of Chinese Whispers. I’m already looking forward to our first social of next year!

The term has come to an end now and I would like to say well done to the whole editorial team for their work over the last few months. If you look back at how the Wessex Scene has developed over the last couple of years you’ll see how much effort has gone into improving every aspect of the paper. Hopefully this will continue next year!
